| 8/23/2010 - ANA Group Improves Delivery Times |
Overseas Courier Service Co. (Tokyo) announced Monday that it would shorten by up to 24 hours the transport times for small cargo headed to major Asian cities through a hub in Okinawa. The shorter deliveries will start Sept. 1.
The All Nippon Airways Co. group firm, which handles international deliveries of parcels and documents, will take items collected at seven domestic airports in Hokkaido, Kyushu and other locations to Tokyo`s Haneda airport for customs procedures.
The company will then fly shipments at night to Okinawa`s Naha airport, where it will redistribute them for early-morning delivery to five Asian destinations, such as Shanghai and Bangkok.
Previously, the firm had to move all items from Japan`s regional cities to the company`s facility near Haneda airport, which did not offer on-site customs procedures. The company was able to make the delivery change because Haneda can now handle customs procedures. |
