Co-organizers China International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFA) and China Global Logistics Network (CGLN) will hold its second conference June 8-11, 2005, in Dalian, China. More than 750 cargo transportation providers are expected to attend the event.
CIFA operates under the auspices of the China Ministry of Commerce, the governmental authority responsible for the freight forwarding industry in China. CGLN is part of the World Cargo Alliance Family of Logistic Networks.
The conference is designed as a platform for small- and medium-size Chinese forwarders to interact with foreign counterparts, promoting the development of the freight forwarding industry in China. Forwarding executives from over 75 countries will be represented.
Worldwide interest in this meeting has been overwhelmingly positive, remarks David L. Yokeum, CGLNs founder and president. The first conference drew 537 people and was called historic by some of Chinas most respected industry dignitaries and observers. For the very first time, independent freight forwarders from all over the world came to China to explore different business cultures and meet new potential partners.
The agenda will feature presentations on how to do business in China and tips on identifying the best Chinese partners. Chinese forwarders will be provided with information on how to work with international partners on business development and will learn about economical software solutions and electronic data-exchange platforms being designed expressly for China logistics providers.
